More Information
While we won’t be driving much, if any, on most days, we do have drive a good bit on our first and last days.
In the van, we will have opportunity to build and bond together talking, singing songs, and playing games together.
Once everyone has arrived and we have loaded all of our gear into the van, we will be Yosemite bound.
Schedule
Our main priority for this trip will be to just enjoy being in nature.
There are various options which the campers may choose.
We may hike and explore Yosemite.
We may have water fun in the ghost town of Bodhi.
We may visit the Devil’s Postpile.
We may swim in Rainbow Falls.
We may relax at our camp site.
We will have brought portable foosball, ping pong, board games, cards, etc.
When we do go hiking, there may even be opportunity to swim, splash, or just dip our feet in the water.
Food
Healthy, conscious snacks are regularly available.
In the evening, we may roast natural marshmallows from Chicago Soy Dairy or make smores at the campfire.
We will make some enjoyable, but simple, breakfasts at our camp site each morning.
We will pack some lunches in our backpacks to enjoy when and where we are ready each day.
Our conscious, nutritious, enjoyable meals will mostly be made on our campfire at our campsite.
Fun
If your child is a musician, then we welcome sharing of talents. We may do some singing around the campfire at night (and certainly when we are traveling in the van), and any camper who plays guitar, harmonica, etc. Is welcome to bring his/her instrument.
The stars should be quite brilliant at night, and campers are welcome to bring portable telescopes if they have. We will have a camp telescope to share. We can also just do some looking up and star gazing.
We may play some night-time glow-in-the-dark Frisbee.
We may tell some stories in our tents or around the campfire - positive, uplifting, inspirational stories - not ghost stories! When we tell stories around the campfire or laying in our tents at night, we do not believe in telling stories that are designed to scare and create insecurity. Camp Exploration has always been focused on nothing but the most positive of values. We are especially focused on helping campers build their self-esteem, their positive relations with others, and their understanding of their important role in the world. Being in the midst of such beautiful, awe-inspiring nature, we will indeed be able to get into some positive, powerful discussions.
Indeed this special week will be a magnificent Mountain Retreat!
We will be breathing pure, clean air and enjoying nature at its best.
