Summer: Cyclers' Safari Overnight Camp

>> With our many magnificent camp considerations, we only schedule some of them for any given summer. Please, though, do contact us to express your interest in a particular program that does not seem to be scheduled as you would like.

The Cyclers' Safari is especially for the child who wants to get away for a week in nature and enjoy bike riding as well as a variety of other enjoyable activities. Each camper will bring his/her own mountain bike and helmet. If a child does not have a bike or helmet or if it is not feasible to get it to camp, then we can look into renting (with that added expense) for the week. Our new camp van is designed to safely carry all of our bikes with us from our hq to camp and elsewhere.

We will likely do at least some biking each day - sometimes at our campsite and sometimes exploring trails and off-road elsewhere in the area. We may bike one day at nearby Vasquez Rocks. We also can build during the week to maybe join the special monthly community "professional" ride on the Saturday that ends our week.

At our campsite we can choose to enjoy badminton, basketball, board games, crafts, foosball, frisbee, hiking, hockey, horseshoes, karaoke, miniature golf, ping pong, playground, song sessions, stargazing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, etc.

We will ultimately have a good night’s sleep in our cabin each night. Our cabin is at a rustic but well equipped campsite in Soledad Canyon.

We will make some of our healthy, conscious meals at our cabin. We will enjoy roasting marshmallows, making smores, and snacking on a multitude of healthy, conscious goodies. For those of us who like to eat and like to eat well, we will always have plenty of good choices available.

We may tell some stories in our cabin or by the fire - positive, uplifting, inspirational stories - not ghost stories! We do not believe in telling stories that are designed to scare and create insecurity. Camp Exploration has always been focused on nothing but the most positive of values. We are especially focused on helping campers build their self-esteem, their positive relations with others, and their understanding of their important role in the world. Even with the songs we sing – at the campsite, in the van, and sometimes even in any random place we are – we are conscious of the lyrics and messages. No matter where we are and what we are doing, Camp Exploration is fully focused on helping our campers grow to become more conscious and caring human beings.

The Cyclers' Safari will truly be a terrific treat for the child who loves to bike ride as well as have the chance to enjoy a variety of other enjoyable activities.
